Jubilee School Launches the First Smart Classroom in the Kingdom

AMMAN------ June 29, 2015 ------- Jubilee School, affiliated to King Hussein Foundation, launched the first smart classroom of its kind in Jordan, to provide a smart educational environment using modern interactive software.

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), inaugurated the smart classroom, highlighting the step as futuristic saying:  "Smart education is the future of education in the whole world."

Speaking to Petra News Agency, "Equipping the classroom is part of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his vision for education development," emphasizing the importance of mainstreaming the smart experience to all schools.

Meanwhile, Suha Jouaneh, Director of Jubilee School, said "the presence of technology in education is a must, in order to conform with the development of other fields such as engineering, medicine, space, agriculture and modern era sciences, as our daily lives, work and social communication has become more digital, easier, faster and more effective."

Jouaneh expressed her gratitude to Dr Abu-Ghazaleh for patronizing the youth creativity and for supporting the school's leading technological initiative, which would open up new horizons for them in the labor market through partnership between TAG-Org and Jubilee School for the financing and the introduction of the first smart classroom in Jordan.

Jouaneh pointed out that the smart classroom was equipped with 26 laptops and a recording camera with a storage unit, in addition to an interactive smart screen. She explained that the class aims to create a smart interactive environment in education, and to move from education to learning where the teacher delivers the lessons on the smart screen using modern interactive software, all the classes will be recorded on a storage unit then will be streamed over the Internet, allowing students to refer to the lectures videos and interacting with them.

Jouaneh noted that the smart class features conferencing and sharing with other schools during lectures in order to transfer knowledge between students and schools.

The opening of Jubilee School is seen as a qualitative addition to the movement of educational development in Jordan, distinguished mostly by the focus on quality. The school is devoted for the human resources who hold the elements of talent and creativity, to be a unique model absorbing the latest educational reform trends in terms of actual practice at the school level.
